New York’s Tisserie

“Tisserie, a new patisserie with European roots and international appeal, is soon to open in the Landmark District of Union Square. Situated on the northwest corner of 17th Street and Broadway, this highly visible location will soon be home to a two-level stylish caf? with emphasis on freshness, service, sophistication and wit. Conceived and developed by two young brothers, Ronald and Morris Harrar, Tisserie is an evolution of St. Honor?, the enormously successful pastry shop and restaurant founded by the Harrars in their hometown of Caracas, Venezuela. Having recruited top talents from across the world including General Chef Gustavo Agudelo, a Columbian born, French trained chef who was instrumental in the launch of St. Honor?, the Harrars are advancing the notion of a New York caf? to much more than a quick bite and a cup of joe. To implement their unique concept of a New York City patisserie, the brothers assembled an extraordinary design team for their first US venture, including Ed Temmel as project manager from kitchen contractors Baring Industries -Electrolux-, Rockwell Group, Lazlo Bodak Engineers, Focus Lighting and Yui Design. The contractor, Construction Zone, complemented and executed the final design which is sure to be a visually iconic and intensely satisfying culinary destination in Union Square.

Tisserie will offer over 25 different artisan breads as well as pastries, fruit tarts and cakes all baked and prepared on premises. Specialty ingredients include Venezuelan chocolate, home to the best cacao beans in the world. Additionally, Tisserie will also make the most of their proximity to the Union Square Greenmarket by offering an array of seasonal specialties. A menu of savory dishes and entrees will be offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Hours of operation will be 6 AM to 10 PM.”
